Announcing RC-200X electronic switches Jan 16 2008 |
We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of our updated electronic switches. Based on user input and feedback, we have incorporated new features into our switches. The most notable is a user programmable trip point and reversing, allowing users to "Y" the switch to existing channels and be activated at the desired time and direction. We have also expanded the voltage input to the switches, allowing for users with higher voltage receiver packs to operate safely.
These switches will begin shipping February 2008

As many have seen, we are out of Lithium Glow drivers at the moment. Stock is expected in Mid-November.
We have strived to keep the price of the lithium glow driver reasonable since its introduction. Unfortunately, during the past three years of its existence, we have held prices constant, while our production costs have climbed. Our company philosophy has always been to manufacture our products here in the USA and we will continue to do so. We take great pride in this.
For the next batch, the price will increase by $5 per unit to $104.95 and $107.95 respectively.

We have developed a simple new hourmeter product which will track engine ON time and display it on a small LCD meter. This is an all in one unit that includes a hall effect rpm pickup and magnet, which triggers time counting. It has the ability to log up to 99999.9 hours of motor ON time with .1 hour resolution. Great for UAV’s that require service intervals or for the hobbyist curious to see how long they’ve run their motor.

Smaller GPS antenna Dec 22 2005 |
We are now including a smaller GPS antenna with the external antenna version of the GPS datalogger. This small, lightweight patch antenna has equal or better qualities than our previous version, providing a lighter and less cumbersome installation. In addition to this version, we offer the GDL-03 model which features a GeoHelix style antenna, giving a broader antenna pattern and greater coverage within vehicles that have rapid attitude changes.

RCATS is pleased to announce that it has installed its telemetry systems in several top air race competitors, expanding its total number of users with RCATS units in air racing environments.
Recent installations include Mike Brown’s “September Fury” Gold Unlimited Sea Fury and Darryl Greenamyer’s Gold winning Lancair Legacy.

Lithium Glow Driver Status
We are trying to keep up with demand of Lithium Glow Driver shipments. Our manufacturing issue has been corrected and procedures put in place to prevent it from happening again. Any units currently sent in for warranty should be dealt with by June 10th. All current backorders should be filled shortly.
If you desire to purchase a glow driver, it is suggested that you put your name on a waiting list to ensure delivery. Current backlog is estimated at 3-4 weeks. Note that the drivers are currently priced at $99.95 and $102.95 respectively. The units will be featuring a battery capacity upgrade (from 4400mAH to 4800mAH) in the coming month, due to the existing cells being phased out of production. At that point, the price will increase, however, any orders placed at this time will be honored at the existing prices. Thanks again for your support and patience. |

RCATS Delivers first Industrial (RCATS-IND) telemetry unit May 26 2005 |
RCAT Systems is pleased to announce that it has delivered its first production RCATS Industrial telemetry unit to a top Gold class Reno Air Race Formula 1 team. This unit features a higher power (1 Watt) transmitter for extended range, interlocking connectors and many of the same measurements available in the mainstay RCATS unit. The system is housed in a metal enclosure for harsh environments.
For this installation, RCATS integrated the customer's existing engine monitor instrument with the telemetry unit. This enabled the crew to use existing, known measurements for their race analysis and provided expanded measurement ability through the use of the integrated systems.

Tom Hunt, who reviewed the RCATS Telemetry System in the January 2005 issue of FLY R/C magazine has released a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with built in macros useful for testing electric aircraft. GPS Datalogger Details Aug 10 2004 |
We are excited to announce details regarding our new GPS Datalogger product. Slated for release in September, this exciting new device adds GPS and unprecedented datalogging functionality to the RCATS telemetry unit. Physically the same size as the RCATS telemetry unit, it encompasses an 8 channel GPS receiver and receptacle for a removable secure digital card. For those not requiring GPS functionality, it will also be available as a datalogger. When you are ready for GPS, then simply install the GPS receiver. Preliminary calculations show that with a 512MB secure digital (SD) card, the unit will log approximately 130 continuous hours of telemetry and GPS data! Logging only GPS results in approximately 800 hours of data storage. In addition to being an add-on for the RCATS telemetry unit, the GDL also acts as a standalone GPS datalogger and telemetry unit.

As seen at the AMA convention 2004, this exciting new product is currently undergoing its final stages of development and we expect a release date of early summer. At the AMA convention, we unveiled two new products.
They are a fiberoptic version of the RC-100 electronic switch and a smart glow plug driver. The fiberoptic switch is available now for $59.95. See page four of our Winter 2004 Brochure. Glow plug driver is expected in the spring of 2004. Under typical usage, the glow plug driver will last up to three years without a charge and automatically maintains correct glow plug power under fouled conditions. Keep your eyes out for this one.
The RCATS Telemetry unit is now available as a ground unit. It includes everything except the RF telemetry link and allows direct connection to a pc or laptop for real-time engine testing, etc. See the Price Matrix or Winter 2004 Brochure for details. |
